How does a stylish gay look different without wearing peacock feathers

Author: rozane
Problems with gaydar?

Gay men have always been the trendsetters, flamboyant about their choice of clothes, picking up scarves and other leather embellishments that straight men wouldn't dream of! However, there is a thin line between a gay man's and a straight man's attire with both of them adopting new styles and trends at a lightening speed. Metro-sexual men akin to homosexual men are into pedicures and scented candles; they too prefer flat-front pants, sandals and shoulder bags. So, what will the gay crowd do new to become the trendsetters again?

Colour codes and clothes online to establish yourself

As we all know that clothes describe the attitude of person and sometimes even his sexual orientation, the best thing left for us to do is learn about colour codes.

There are clothes for offices and clothes for partying, clothes for golf and clothes for dating. You need to be in tune with fashion to know what will work where. A fashion conscious gay man will neither walk into a bar wearing suit and tie, nor will he dress up in a pink shirt and leather jacket for company presentation. Here's a colour-coded dressing guide for gays to keep in mind when they go to a gay clothes shops or shop for clothes online.

Clothes online for dating

The perfect clothing for single wanting to mingle would be a blue tee or shirt as blue unconsciously makes the other person feel that you are faithful, stable and will ‘always be there'. Gays in blue represents a man ready for long-term, monogamous relationship. If your gaydar registers a gay man in blue, ask him out immediately. If you are a calm and compassionate individual, seeking someone faithful and equally calm, look for gays in pink. Green and brown are other colours that reflect calm personality and if your gaydar finds somebody in any of the above-mentioned four fantastic colours, hook on to him!

Red and orange are colours for people with powerful personalities. Red is the colour of dominance and determination, strength and sexual energy, passion and persistence – if you are looking for a dom, for a sub/dom relationship, look out for gay men in red. Orange colour is not as powerful as red but if you spot a gay in orange, you can rest assured that he is easy-going, welcoming, casual, courageous and bold (has to be if he carries himself well in this colour). Such men are hard to find so latch on to them strongly if you find them ever.

Clothes online for work

If you are looking for clothes online for formal occasions that will spread your charisma everywhere without making you appear over the top and over-dressed – go with black. It is the queen of all colours and reflects elegance, authority, stateliness and sophistication. If you are having an important presentation in the office and would like to look more brainy, classy, efficient and confident than your straight colleagues, quick get gray clothes online. Nine out of ten men will not have this boring colour but gray shirts really look cool and give you a look of intellectuality in a way no straight man can ever imitate. Other colour that gay men detest is brown but this earthy colour has its own virtue and makes you look more reliable, stable and approachable, great for job interviews, we must say.

White, colour of virtue and purity, is great for all occasions where you would want to look clean and gentlemanly. If your boss says that he wants to have an informal meeting with you over lunch tomorrow, make sure you have an aqua coloured shirt, any gay man in aqua is sure to look dynamic (which we already are) and motivated. Turquoise is also a good option as it looks youthful, imaginative and innovative, which a cool gay guy actually is!

The one fashion blunder that a gay should never make is buying a yellow-green tee or shirt, this colour that resembles squished caterpillar will have the gay community and the straights laughing at your expense!

Make sure you visit as many clothes shop as possible or buy clothes online in colours that suit

your personality and ambitions.
